      We want to give your child a summer to remember.  Come and meet our Adventure Day Camp Director, Kaitlin Stanton.  She will be at the Recreation Center to answer all of your questions.

    2. Free Mad Science @ Ridgefield Recreation Center
      10:30 am – 11:30 am

      We will be teaming up with Mad Science this summer and invite you and your family to our action packed event that will surely erupt your curiosity.  The Mad Scientist will release genies from bottles, spew massive columns of foam, and offer summer camp information.  Science is fun in this highly interactive 30-minute show (recommended for ages 4+).

    1. Community CPR/AED Certification Course (ages 13+)
      5:30 pm – 9:30 pm

      Students taking this one-day class will be taught to recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac and breathing emergencies.  Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for CPR/AED (adult, child, and infant) which is valid for two years.

      The Newcomers Club of Ridgefield is hosting their annual Camp Fair at the Recreation Center.  Come and gather information about local summer camps.  The fair will be open for the following two time slots:

      • 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
      • 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm

       

      The snow date is on Tuesday, March 24.

       

      Don’t forget to visit our Adventure Day Camp booth for your chance to win a one year Family Recreation Membership (over $240 value).

    1. Destress & Detox with Essential Oils/Wellness Education Series
      12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

      Our lives are busy, very busy.  Have you ever wondered what it would feel like if you were to just STOP in the middle of your day to sit, breathe, and peacefully observe, allowing your shoulders to release and your body to relax as you inhale the fragrance of pure, therapeutic grade essential oils which assists your body to let go of stress and tension?  Just the thought of it makes the body say, “I want that!”

      Well, you are invited to have such an experience.  Please join us for this one-hour workshop to learn how therapeutic grade essential oils, along with simple techniques, can help you to de-stress and detox your bodies.  The presenter is Isabel Chase who is a wellness advocate, yoga instructor, and essential oil educator.

       

      This seminar is part of the Wellness Education Series and is free for Recreation Center members and $10 for non-members.  Click here to register.

    1. Spring Swim Lesson Member Registration Starts
      6:00 am – 10:00 pm

      Ridgefield Parks & Recreation offers American Red Cross swim lesson programs, including:

      • Parent & Child (PACA) for children ages 6-48 months
      • Preschool Aquatics for children ages 4-5
      • Learn to Swim for children ages 6-12
      • Adult lessons for everyone ages 13+

      Private lessons are available exclusively to members (ages 3+).  You may become a member at time of registration.

    2. Free World Wildlife with Animal Embassy @ Ridgefield Recreation Center
      10:30 am – 11:30 am

      Meet Animal Ambassadors such as Inca, the spectacled owl whose origins are found in Peru.  You’ll get up close with Sydney, an Australian eclectus parrot.  Discover some amazing adaptations with a colorful Sinaloan milk snake, an African tortoise or perhaps a red-foot tortoise family from South America.  Your family will be introduced to enigmatic frogs such as a red-eyed tree frog, hailing from Central America or an African bullfrog (the second largest species in the world). Animal Embassy enables people of all ages to connect with the natural world with this unforgettable, interactive live animal presentation!
