Bone Density Screening/Wellness Education Series
Oct 18 @ 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Let’s face it, none of us are getting any younger.  Ten million Americans are estimated to have osteoporosis – a health problem that makes your bones thin, weak, and more likely to break.  You can find out if you are at risk by taking a simple and painless test to measure bone loss.  Ridgefield Parks & Recreation in collaboration with Physicians Health & Injury Center is offering a Bone Density Screening.

This is part of the Wellness Education Series and is free for Recreation Center members and $10 for non-members. Pre-registration is strongly recommended to ensure that the event is not canceled.

ROAR Very Scary Furry Scurry 2 Mile Race/Walk @ Ridgefield Recreation Center
Oct 30 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
ROAR Very Scary Furry Scurry 2 Mile Race/Walk @ Ridgefield Recreation Center | Ridgefield | Connecticut | United States

Ridgefield Parks & Recreation is a proud sponsor of ROAR’s Very Scary Furry Scurry 2 Mile Race/Walk and Kids Ding Dong Dash.  Costumes for you and your dog are welcomed and encouraged at this fun event supporting the animal shelter.  There will be awards for first place runners, first place adult and dog team runners, best dressed adult and dog team, and best dressed overall (maybe even a few surprise trophies).  Along with the 2 mile run/walk there will be tons of other fun activities, including the Kids Ding Dong Dash where instead of having the kids run a specific route, we are going to have them zig zag across the Recreation Center field stopping at four stations. At each stop, the child will be asked to do a “trick” to get a “treat.” that will make this very scary furry scurry a little less scary.

Adults: $40 (with or without dogs)
Children: $15
