Muse Squad Junior: A Creative Writing Program
About the Course:
Muse Squad Junior promotes a gathering place where young writers, regardless of previous experience, can delve into their craft. Students will learn literary devices, acquire skills on how to flesh out a story, become competent at character development, master dialogue, and support and inspire each other. For more information on the class and the instructor Brittney Richardson, visit musesquad.org.

Participants will conjure up a scene in which they blend autobiographical components with elements of fiction, infuse imagery, and take risks creating an authentic narrative voice after drawing inspiration from J. D. Salinger’s The Catcher in the Rye. Students must bring a notebook, pen, snack, and a drink (laptops are optional).
